ROCK ON GPK!

During the last week of Term 3, UHPS celebrated GPK Day by having a ROCK CONCERT.

Students from Albany Junior High School came and performed in the school's hall. The two bands were amazing, they performed their own original songs as well as some old rock classics!

A huge thanks to all the students and teachers from Albany Junior High School, who took time out of their own schedules in order to share their wonderful talent with us.

YOU ROCKED!

SHARING OUR LEARNING!

During Week 9 of Term 3, UHPS students invited their family members into their classrooms. Guests took part in a 'Sharing Our Learning' experience.

Each student shared their learning progression and their learning goals for each curriculum area.

Students then took their guests on a tour around the classroom, this was a
reflection on the different things we have been learning during school time.

Students showed their guests the school's iPad and they had the opportunity of having a go at some of our learning activities.

Room 18 created a guest book on the ActivBoard so our guests to leave comments about their experience. We had some really positive feedback.

Thank you to all guests for visiting Room 18 and allowing students to share their learning with you.

GPK PJ Day!

GPK stands for Growing Positive Kiwis and we celebrate this twice each term. We are rewarded with this if we have managed to stick to our School Values throughout the term. These are:
  • Looking after others
  • Looking after yourself
  • Looking after the environment
  • Using right time, right place, right person thinking
When we are continuously being spotted using these values, we are rewarded with a GPK Day. We get to do lots of different fun activities in our teams and as a whole school.

Daffodil Day!

On Friday 27th August the UHPS community were able to purchase daffodil badges, tattoos and wear anything yellow in order to raise money for the Cancer Society. We did an excellent job supporting this charity and managed to raise a grand total of $466.

Buddy Class

Room 18's buddy class for this year is Room 14!
We often get together and share our learning.
At the end of Term 2 we enjoyed playing with construction.

Look at all the wonderful things we created.

Our focus was to work together as a team.

RED SOCKS DAY!

On Thursday 1st July all members of UHPS were celebrating Red Socks Day by coming to school wearing red socks. We celebrate Red Socks Day in order to acknowledge the leaders in our community.
